Thanks Mike!
Talked with the shipping company and looks like my bed will be here on Wednesday finally after waiting for almost two months so hopefully there is no damage so I can get it put on!

Re: Project: Turbo 250

HUGE DEVASTATION today! I was all super excited headed over to meet the semi to pick up my bed to be more convient for him to get around in the parking lot at the local Sam's club expecting to see this flawless bed that I have been waiting months for and this is what I get! It is smashed in on all sides! And the attitude of the guy delivering it... "No big deal that's what happens when you ship things they get damaged." And he refused to touch it since he didnt know how to move it. So I had to get it from the front of the semi with no equipment and lift it on to my trailer with my dad since his lift gate was broke!!!! Needless to say NEVER SHIP WITH ESTES!!!

Try $5300.00 The other side is like that too and the fender wells are rolled under... its not pretty. I got a quote from a local company that paints pretty much most of the classic cars around here. Yeah a claim is being filed and we will see how it all goes...

Re: Project: Turbo 250

WOW that really does suck. It is truely amazing how some people would not think twice about causing that much damage to a very nice pickup bed. Was the bed shipped inside a crate?

Re: Project: Turbo 250

It was shipped on a mini sub frame that kept it about 6" up off the ground. even if it was inside of a fullcrate it wouldnt have matter the crate would have been smashed, This frame it was built on was even smashed up and busted and it was not skimpy by any means either.

Re: Project: Turbo 250

On a good note my new chrome alternator from AC Delco and my billet pulleys should be here soon, and I get to see the color in every light and (every angle :/) to make triple sure its the color I want.

Re: Project: Turbo 250

Great build! I am picking up another truck (this time a '68), and plan on stripping it down to frame and putting my air ride on etc. It currently has a 250 in it, and I was planning on going the LS route with it, but after seeing this, maybe I'll stick with the 250 Very cool!

Ended up buying the MSD HEI from him with the external coil so that it is easier with my a/c setup and the billet side covers.

Re: Project: Turbo 250

Hey man. Hadn't been on in a while. Hate to see that about your bed. Yeah my truck came from TX and had some dents and scuffs on it. How the heck does that stuff happen? Some careless dumba$$ that don't give a crap 'cause it isn't their stuff.
What about those pulleys though? They fit? I want some dressup for my engine too, what pulleys would I need with 2 belts, no AC?

Re: Project: Turbo 250

This is where the kicker comes in... I have measured and have only got to play with it a little but lining up the water pump, power steering, and alternator dont seem to be an issue... but getting the dang crank pulley lined up seems to be the issue.... with you having the stock damper shouldnt be an isssue... When I get done with final exams this week, I will have time to play with all of it more, ultimately I am at war in my mind over whether to keep the SBC SFI spec 18.1 harmonic balancer and build new brackets or to ditch it turn down my rpm to max out at 5900 and put a stock one on from dorman and call it a day.

Re: Project: Turbo 250

Well got my new P-trim .68 tangential turbine housing in yesterday afternoon and well guess what it doesnt clear the motor mount/frame rail and so now I have to figure out whether to try and scour the nation to find a .69 a/r on center housing and then shell the cash out for it, or try and fabricate a mount to clear the frame and maybe have oil draining issues.... with the drain line at a 40* angle.... HP never comes easy or cheap grrrr.....
