Well get better. Then get back in the garage and cut and weld until you like it.

Re: 71 C10 project "Double Tap"

Got trans lines installed. Started fuel lines and ordered brake lines. Going to install brake lines tomorrow. Then I'm dragging the body in the garage and going to town. I plan to have the cab done and back on the chasis this week since I'm going to be off the rest of the week..

Still need to find a good foam bench seat. So if anyone has one that isn't to far let me know. I refuse to put my new cover on my worn out bench seat.

Re: 71 C10 project "Double Tap"

I just read thru your whole thread, wow you've come a long way. Why does it take so longgggg to finish one of these? I thought I could knock it out in a couple of months when I started my '68 ha! I just want to get the frame painted now. I have to start focusing on the small victories and hopefully they'll add up> great work

Re: 71 C10 project "Double Tap"

Spent the day cleaning the garage and got the cab put inside for a long list of changes. I started on the brake lines but didn't get far due to wrong parts.

Re: 71 C10 project "Double Tap"

Small update... The rust was more then I thought which bummed me out so I've pushed the cab aside and went back to finishing all the small things on the chasis until I run out of things to do but work on the cab. Hope to have some picture updates for all of you this weekend.

Re: 71 C10 project "Double Tap"

Got the front shocks installed, brake lines built just have to drill and fasten them down all the way and that pretty much wraps up everything on the chasis. Filled the rearend with royal purple so it will hopefully have a few more good years out of it.

Went last week and bought all my interior paint and dyes so just as soon as someone comes over and fixes this rust then I can start slapping this thing back together.

Thought I'd try my hand at some arts n crafts on the door logos after some liquid courage. I think it will do just fine.

Re: 71 C10 project "Double Tap"

Got back on the rust removal of the cab. Double Tap has already claimed its first life, my 10 yr old Makita grinder. So that kind of brought the day to a holt but decided to give it another go around and started on the inside of the doors. Got one completed and looks good but not quite the shade I was going for so I will get to do it again. Pictures soon to come.

Re: 71 C10 project "Double Tap"

3 weeks since my last update! Where does the time go. Been picking at the truck here and there. Most of my free time is going to house projects right now but I have managed to get the rust situation under control. Just a few more panels and welding and she'll be ready to take anything I throw at her. Once this cab is complete it will be smooth sailing for me! Fingers crossed! Would have had picture updates this evening but power is out so maybe tomorrow.
