Re: Roll call for the 66's!

Here's my '66. The GMC in here is also a '66, but my dad sold a few months back to another forum member in FL. He replaced it with a '66 K10 farm truck that I'll have to dig up some pictures of.

Re: Roll call for the 66's!

Ok, so I am new to the group. Picking up a wealth of information from all you guys. Here's my '66 LWB Custom. Just bought it on July 4th. Factory 327, TH400, power steering, power brakes with sway bar. The camper shell was put on in '67. Wood in the bed is original and in great shape. The guy had a little fire (said it had a glass fuel filter on it and broke). Working on the interior to get it back in original form (as close as I can get it). It also has air shocks but I'm not sure they are factory.

Re: Roll call for the 66's!

Update on my 66. Finally got all the suspension, brakes, wheels and tires and steering done. Starting on the metal work. I'm still trying to decide what color to paint it.

Welcome! Neat truck. However, I don't think the TH400 was available on C10s in 66. Perhaps you have a powerglide? Horn button looks different as well.

It is a TH400 and not a powerglide (I do know the difference between the two). After spending a few hours on this site yesterday I am beginning to doubt the story about this truck. The engine is a 327 but it is painted orange. The tranny is a TH400. It looks like they were taken out and rebuilt (or installed i.e the tranny) at one time. In any case, it's a great truck and I can't wait to get it back on the road!

Thanks!
