It fits the block timing chain cover area good, but the oil pan is too big or something for it..

maybe the wrong pan... there are several different pans. ones for left side dipstick, ones for right side dipstick, pre 86, post 87...

There are two different gaskets depending on the radius of the curved portion of the oil pan under the timing cover: thin 2 1/4", and thick 2 3/8". That could be it.

Other than that, the gasket surfaces must be clean as a whistle and flat. If it is a Felpro kit, read the instructions thoroughly. Torque all the bolts with a torque wrench. It's a long and tedious job if you are crawling underneath.

I got the wrong gasket like jim said

Ok, nother one for yall... The oil pan is dimpled between the bolt holes (facoty or some sort or another? Should I try to straigthen them?

Do you think autozone will let me return the gasket they gave me (wrong one)..

The sections between the holes are part of the sheet metal stamping and should be left as is. The area surrounding each hole is usually distorted from overtightening the bolts, so these should be carefully hammered back flat again. Check the flanges with a good straightedge, they should be flat front to back and side to side.

Can't say about the return. In most cases, once a gasket package seal is broken, they are yours forever. Won't hurt to try to return it, sometimes those guys have a heart. Good luck.

There's also a pan that adapts for either left or right dipstick - there are blocks that have provisioning for either left or right dipstick, though whichever one isn't used gets plugged. The pan has curves on both sides for the dipstick specifically for this and uses QOS34510T gasket.

Ok, I got the 10T this AM. My pan only has 1 spot for the dipstick NOT DUAL DIPSTICKS

So will the 10T gasket work?!?!

Says it's for "marine" engines Keith.
The 10T is correct for two side provisioned dipstick blocks/pans.
He needs the one side only, if I'm understanding correctly.

If you measured your pan and found that it takes a "thick" gasket, the one you have should be ok.

I assume you mean by "10T" that you have this gasket ---->

If you only have the one side dipstick pan John, personally, I wouldn't use the 10T.
Check post 2236 (thick) or OS34509T (thin).

Am I the only one that dislikes the "driver's side" dipstick location?

My mistake on the 10T, the Summit pic wasnt clear to me. Maybe Felpro doesnt make the kit in the thick version ?

Then yes, Keith's links (post 2243) are correct. You need to determine if you need "thin" or "thick" John.

What year is your engine John?
What is your measurement in the pic above that Jim suggested? Is it 2 3/8? Looks more than 2 1/4. If yes, go with "thick".

The 10T is on the truck, drove it home, few small drips probably from the 09 it soaked the frame..

I'll keep you guys posted, hopefully its just excess from the frame dripping off, IDK i'll purple power it and hot water pressure wash it wednesday or so..

Looking for the flat inspection cover for a manual trans (3spd) thanks

I needed thick front, with driver dipstick, but could only get thick front seal with BOTH? dipstick spots..

Where do you think the drips are coming from? The passenger's side?
You're Autozone doesn't carry (or can get) the one Keith posted?
I don't like auto part stores much.
