Re: Speed Engineering LS Swap Headers Findings

My 99 Fbody manifolds would not fit my 72 Blazer. I got the 1 3/4" long tubes and the passenger side needed the frame massaged a bit to fit right. I just bent the frame up a bit. I am mating the T56 to it and other than that the headers seem to be a pretty good fit. I am however planning on using the original F body Master cylinder which if I am correct would be in a totally out of the way spot. I am still mocking everything up at this point.

If header to clutch slave cylinder clearence is an issue, you can always change to a hydraulic release bearing.

got a brand new set in the box that i won't be using due to the fact that you have to cut the "ears" off a 4L80e to run them.

Re: Speed Engineering LS Swap Headers Findings

I’m going to use an internal slave. Check out gringoloco’s build. He’s running a TKO with an internal slave.

Re: Speed Engineering LS Swap Headers Findings

I know this is an old post but I’m wondering how they have held up or if there is a better brand that won’t break the bank for an 65 c10 with a 700r4 2 wd that doesn’t hang way down below the frame...

Re: Speed Engineering LS Swap Headers Findings

I've had them on my 68 C10 LS swap for 3 years with zero issues. As much as I hate China made stuff I just couldn't see spending $800-$1200 for US made. My LS is a small cam LS1 so not huge horse power. If I was running a big HP engine I would not buy the Speed Engineering headers. The best designed headers have the longest gradual turn down after the exhaust port. If you look at the SE header design they take a tight bend after the exhaust port.

Re: Speed Engineering LS Swap Headers Findings

Has anyone used their mid length? Trying to decide between mid length and long tube. See lots of information on the Shorty and Long but doesn’t seem to be much info on the mid length.
