I thought there was a follow-up story in the last couple of years where he sold the truck to the original owner's son or grandson for $75.
Either way, it's a fun story and at least to me, a reminder how vehicles are supposed to be driven: until the wheels fall off. |

It's a shame that Bob couldn't be bothered to take better care of the truck while he owned it.
I mean I love that he owned it for 38 years, but refusing to replace a rusty muffler to the point where everyone hears your rusty crap coming from 5 miles away is a bit much. Hopefully the guy he sold it to will join the forum, make some improvements, and give it a chance at 38 more years!
