Picked this up today. 66 half ton 4wd GMC. V6 4 speed. Runs like a sewing machine. Anyone have a guess as to production number? I see roughly 1900 chevy’s were made in 66, so 4-500 GMCs? Has a cool dealer installed ac system too. Are the fenders for 60-66 chevy and gmc all the same? I have a chrome grille I bought many years ago I’m going to throw in it. Camper is trashed so its going to the dump. Be a fun summer project to tinker with

Bummer on the shell being trash, that's a cool look as is.

Yes, the fenders are the same, except of course where emblem placement is or isn't depending on the year of the fender

The bed is really nice. I think the camper, air conditioning unit and radio were probably all done when new or very close to it. I got the camper out tonight and Im going to clean it up tomorrow. Ill post some photos then. Hoping I can get some of the paint off of the front half to expose the original paint underneath

More progress. Fenders, grille and bumper are getting replaced so not working on those areas

That is an awesome find. Oddly enough being where I live here in the mountain areas I can't seem to find a good 4x4 of this era for nothing.

If the fenders are still good on the inside just repair the outside on those easy than replacement

Sadly theyre toasted on the inside brace too. I might just cut the fenders in half and use the reproduction cab half and use the nice original grille half to make a good fender for each side
