I asked for it!!

Well, I'm finally crawling around under my new acquisition. A '63 LWB!!

I've been wanting something to "tinker" with as I THOUGHT I was done with all the "big" stuff. I bought this little truck from an independent dealer/broker/collector. It's the "dealer" part that got me!! The only people I know that can perhaps lie better than a politician is a "dealer". So under I go in a first of I'm sure many times.

I've has fun making this console. Came out fairly well. That's my "light" for the week.

Now I'm fighting oil pressure issues on a supposed 2200 mile fresh 350. I tried flushing. I've done two oil changes in 500 miles. I've used heavier weight oil,..that helped some. Now I'm crawling under to pull the pan and install a new oil pump. (Melling). I've got zero oil pressure on the Dolphin gauge at warm idle. And 20-25 PSI at 2000 RPM on the highway. But as soon as my foot comes off the accelerator approaching a stop light, etc., the pressure drops right into the "zero" range. (Putting the tranny in neutral will get me somewhere near 8-10 PSI at the light when warm). So regardless as to whether the oil pickup was installed correctly or not, once I get the pan off, might as well put in new pump and pray it's not the bearings.

Anyway,... I'm baaaack!
