Re: 2 for 1, My son's first Square Build
My aunt Kari got me a gift card for custom plates, anything 6 letters as long as it's not taken, and i need some ideas. Rover is taken, rrover is taken, but roverr is available, i like "fired" because it goes with the fire red paint, i need more ideas though!
Got the tranny back and mated it with the engine, and dropped that into the frame. undercoated the bed in the same raptor liner as the cab, looks beter that the cab though! Tomorrow the inside of the cab will be raptor linered, and hopefully dropped onto the frame. Need to work on the filler door inside the bed, going to use the hinge assembly from a spare 98 bed my dad had. It's crunch time guys, we are shooting to have it together in 9 days, that'll give us 2 days to work out a few kinks before trailering it all the way to austin. Hope to cruise around austin at night after the show!

What show are you going to and what day? I live not too far from Austin and wouldn't mind seeing this build in person. Maybe even drive down my daughters project.

Re: 2 for 1, My son's first Square Build
We had a very productive weekend. Got the fuel system done, tank mounted and wires for the pump and sending unit hooked up and ran to the front.
Put the engine and trans in, mounted the exhaust, put the front suspension together and did a very rough adjustment of the toe. Rolled it out side and gave the frame a good cleaning. Front wheels should ship from aewheel today. We will see if they got it right this time. We are working hard on it...

Re: 2 for 1, My son's first Square Build
Which ones? The fronts are Boss 307 that I don't think are made anymore in a 5 lug wheel. The rears are Eagle 225's. The Eagles are the ones that will be on the truck if the fronts ever come in...

Re: 2 for 1, My son's first Square Build
haven't had internet for the past few days guys, but have gotten a lot done. Brakes are done. We got a lot of wiring done but still have a lot to go, but last night we had enough wiring done to turn the key, and before i turned the starter over gas spilled all over the ground. Turns out, we forgot to tighten one fitting on the fuel filter, and the other fitting on the filter was bad. We fixed the fittings, had no leaks, and with the truck up on jackstands we fired the engine, started first try, idled great, sounded great. Such a relief to know that the PCM was wired up correctly. Had the glass installed just now this morning, carpet is being picked up today, headliner getting upholstered today, all interior trim is painted using Bulldog adhesion promoter and SEM Landeax black. looks great, very happy with the color, theres no gloss to it which i wanted. Will get pics, you guys hold me to it! we are 3 days away from when this thing has to be on the trailer and done!

Re: 2 for 1, My son's first Square Build
While I am eating my lunch I thought I would get an update in. Korbin just posted and gave you guys some details as to where we are at this time. Here are some pictures to go along with that...
PCM and Relays/Fuses mounted under the dash: Shifter Mounted on floor: EZ Wiring, 21 circuit Mini Fuse panel mounted under dash and wiring going everywhere!!! Brake Master Cyliner Mounted and Plumbed Another shot of the engine... Happy Momma! Just after we fired the engine for the first time in this truck...at 11:45 pm...we were all tired and worn out...

Re: 2 for 1, My son's first Square Build
Stayed up late again last night. We got both doors hung and aligned OK for now. Once the truck is driven and settles in and the seals compress a bit, we might readjust them some. Put in the vent windows and the main window weatherstripping in both doors. Hung the front fenders and mounted the headlights in the core support. I don't like how the fenders hang right now. The gap between the door and fender is to wide at the top and tight at the bottom. It looks like the core support needs to come up or the back of the cab to come up so the fenders line up properly. Both doors open fine and do not hit the fender at this time. we are going to move on to other things then come back to the fender/door alignment before leaving on Thursday.
The seals/weather stripping we are using came from GMC Paul's and are Precision Replacement Parts brand. This is the first time I have used that brand and they are very good quality parts. So far they are fit really well and look good. I only have the inner and outer lower window felts left to install in the doors. Got the door latches cleaned up and installed in the doors, still need to hook up the rods to the handles and such but that should not take long this evening. I forgot to get a picture of the vent windows installed in the doors, but they cleaned up nice and looks good with fresh paint on the metal parts. Here is where we stopped early this morning... Korbin is getting a few parts today from the wrecking yard today, plugs, small bolts, and other parts that where damaged or now missing since the tear down. He works today from 2-8:0, so once I get home from work, I will attempt to finish up the wiring and get water in the engine so we can MAYBE pull it out of the garage...
