Re: 1972 Cheyenne original truck a true survivor!

I am so Excited about buying this truck. I love original trucks. I am so tired of seeing these cool old survivors being ruined. My plan is to clean it up and give it some TLC and get it back to a “driver”.

Here is a GMC I bought and resold a couple years ago. I sure did enjoy driving that truck. Big block/ turbo 400/AC. Bought from 2nd owner he had it for a year or so.

After I cleaned it up. It’s back in OHIO now. It’s got a good life of hardware store trips and family cookouts.

I agree, mine was from the original owner's estate,99% unmolested,89K miles.

What all does it need? When will you have it all fixed up so I can swing by and pick up that baby?

Re: 1972 Cheyenne original truck a true survivor!

Congratulations on such a nice unmolested Cheyenne. Orange and white too!!!

Do you think you will keep it after you work your magic, or do the old flip-a-roo and continue hunting for the next one?

Re: 1972 Cheyenne original truck a true survivor!

Update.

Bought a stock repoduction seat cove from Brothers. It’s the 1 from the truck stop. I had my buddy install the seat cover Jan 1 2020. I also pulled the steering Conklin and had another guy rebuild it. Column guy said it was just mostly dirty. Column installed and gear selection is a dream... feels like it’s brand new.

Also replaced the Brocken pass exterior mirror. I found a original 1 from a local parts Hero Tom.

Re: 1972 Cheyenne original truck a true survivor!

While the seat was out I Had my kids help me vacuum and cleaned the interior floor and carpet. I was pleased at how the floor cleaned right up. We found a old business card from the dealership that the truck was sold at new. I am thinking it was probably the salesman. I think. That’s super Cool!!

Re: 1972 Cheyenne original truck a true survivor!

I sold the truck that same day. A Friend bought it. He picked it up April 25th 2020. It will be a older truck the whole family can enjoy. He just want to clean it up and enjoy it.
