2wd to 4wd convertion

Can a 66 2wd be changed to a 4wd without to many problems. I'm not looking to do it in a couple days. My biggest concern is the frame. Are the frames the same? Because of the two totaly differant suspention systems I'm a bit confused.

Hey Dude
It can be done but just to let you know that if it is not a 4 forward transmission you will have to put a 3" body lift in order to get it to work. other than that it should all match up.good luck let us know if you have any problems, I'm in the process of doing the same thing but I have a 4- forward cab on mine.

The answer to your question is the frames are the same will have to take the front end out from under it and replace it with a solid axle front end with leaf springs, make sure the gear ratio's are the same in front and rear ends
