Looking good tj, it takes a lot longer than most realize to clean and pain an engine with over 50 years of dirt and grease. Oh and btw that is a HUGE water pump!

Goof Lord, look at that bore spacing!! The walls must be 2 inches thick. Makes you wonder how people can get 1,000 reliable HP out of today's thin walled LS motors. Have to love that old American strategy though. You want it strong? Then make it big!

Re: 1964 GMC 1500 "crustine" semi- build.
It is big and heavy for sure. haha Even though it has a lot of bore spacing the water jackets are right there. This engine was built with water jackets big enough to stick your hand in! Darn motor holds like 10 gallons of water! haha It is strong for sure. Good motor when it runs well but can be a bit of a pain if you've never worked on one.

Re: 1964 GMC 1500 "crustine" semi- build.
No I haven't, I am using non-magnum gaskets and due to the limited cam flow I think porting would be a waist. Ran like a top and burned clean so I'm happy.
