exhaust question

my truck is a 60 so it has the x frame dont know if anyone on here has done a ls in an x frame or not? currently I have 2.5 exhaust pipe that is routed ouside the frame so it is dual I do not like the sound of duals on an ls motor. I want to run the 2.5 into a single 3" and need some ideas on routing. thinking about cutting into the x to run it down the middle.
