Re: My 1951 chevy project

Hey fb51, if you get your flatbed to set like the one you shown, it will look killer. How did the Eastwood welder work out for you? You going to paint your cab or just primer?

I could not be anymore pleased with the Eastwood welder, especially for the price of $299.00 and free shipping. After welding with a Lincoln 225 for thirty years it has been a little bit of adjustment, but one I am liking. The truck will painted for sure. Plum Crazy is the color selected for the outside and thinking about champagne or silver for interior.

Hey Matt
Not much to show on the truck, life has been so hectic here. But come June 28th. our last child will be gone. He is leaving for six year tour of duty in the USAF. I was hoping to get some done this weekend, but I am having to do a major repair on the tractor. Seems like it always something. Did manage to get my brake pedal and master cylinder mounted. Don

Hey Flat bed. Nice build you have going. Did the brake setup come from the 'bu ? I have read the track width (from the 'bu) is better than the camaro. what do you think?

Yes the brake came off the malibu. The clip went on incredibly well as far as width. I have just started to get back to work on the truck. Had to deal with a divorce last year. I have part of the truck at the bodyshop I work at for the time being until I can get my new shop built.

Re: My 1951 chevy project

Well after going through a divorce this last year, I have finally begun to work on the truck again. Took advantage of a beautiful day to sandblast and prime a fender.

Re: My 1951 chevy project

Thanks Jim, yes the fender is a very solid one. Only discovered two tiny pin holes of rust through in the very front.

glad to see you at it. lucky you on the fender. I got sooo many hours in my fenders on my next project, but I been very particular on them, aiming for next to no filler. keep it up.

Re: My 1951 chevy project

After much debating about what to do with the flatbed, I decided to continue on forward with it using the rear trailing arm suspension I have from a 66 trailer bed I aquired.
