Jeopardy

Well since Scott just smoked me on my trivia question that I thought no one would get I thought it would be fun to have a trivia test. Just ask if anyone knows some obscure fact that you know and you think no one else will. And no googling it! That's the only rule. Cheaters will be severely disciplined.

I'll start it off.

#1 What was John Dillinger's middle name?

#2 Movin to Montana soon, going to be a..... What am I going to be?

#3 Who eventually inherited Jim Morrison's money?

Don't ask me how I remember this stuff. I don't remember what I had for lunch yesterday.

Re: Jeopardy

Herbert, I only know because it was my Grandfather's first name.
They would have been in the same generation.
The others, I am totally clueless, but I'll know for next time it comes up.
I have been called "king if random" or some variant of that more times than I can count. Remembering totally useless things does come in handy occasionally so I guess there is some use.

#2 is "...dental floss tycoon"

#1 is Herbert! Oh shoot, I see that has already been answered

#3 is unknown. No one has answered yet! I'll try. Was it the record company?

Re: Jeopardy

I knew #2, at least.

As for utility bills, when our neighbors moved in next door to us in '03, their first electric bill was almost $1k. They learned not to run the AC too low a temp. Ours was about $250, iirc.

Re: Jeopardy

Herbert is correct.

Dental floss tycoon is also correct. Lyric's from the Frank Zappa song "Montana'.

Hint on #3 Jim Morrison died of a drug overdose and his wife died the same way not long after.

Some new ones.

#4 Who was Marshall Applewhite?

#5 When he wasn't killing people. What did John Wayne Gacy do as a job?

You are 100% correct. He was Pogo the clown. When he was asked how he managed to kill so many victims he said "Everybody trusts a clown'.

He must have had another job because he had a really nice house. It just had a bunch of dead bodies buried under it.

The clown thing must have been a weird sideline. He wasn't exactly dealing with a full deck.

...and they weren't funny. The company I used to work for, which shall remain nameless, had several ways for advancement.
1. Skill
2. Break some expensive hardware- "get that dork off the shop floor and put them in management"! Never mind that they weren't any good at that, either.
3. Beat up some fellow employees. Really, that was a known way to get promoted. I remember attending a workplace violence seminar where one of the presenters mentioned getting promoted by abusing fellow employees. Heads were nodding all over the room, even though the guy said that that isn't how it works. He didn't know anything, obviously.

We got bought out by another company that had a zero-tolerance policy on workplace violence. Everybody in the company had to sit through a 90 minute lecture from a corporate attorney, so that we "knew" now what we should have learned in the sandbox at the age of 3. Man, did heads roll after that! Some people just don't learn. We all had security clearances, and if you got fired, you had to tell the investigators why, when getting a new job that required it. That had to have been an interesting conversation.

Yep. That's the guy and he was a really creepy guy. That whole cult was nuts. But they did have nice shoes.

If I remember correctly that is still the largest mass suicide in the US. Unless you count taxpayers.

I think it's the other way around for most kids. Because of him people began the whole bad clown distrust thing and the wonderful playful clown who used to bring children joy became a thing of distrust. He killed the clown. No more clowns. The circus is dying and no more Ronald McDonald
