Anyone running Edelbrock 7116 Vortec intake with carb heat?
Putting L31 heads on an earlier 350 block for my K20. Truck will be driven in the winter so I will need to use the heat plenum on the 7116 at least seasonally. I would like to run exhaust thru there, but plumbing it, especially with heat resistant shut off valves might be an issue. Running coolant would be easier, but I wonder if 180-190 degree water would keep it warm enough, especially as the carb sits so far above the plenum. Looking for input from anyone who has dealt with this.

For what it's worth my L31 runs great in the winter with a summit no air gap no heat cross over Intake.

I can’t get away with that in this climate. I’ve run old school heads/intakes here, but with the exhaust crossover blocked. 3-4 times on the way to work I’d have to pull over to let the carb thaw. If i jumped out quickly enough and looked I could see the carb covered with frost. The laws of thermodynamics at work, I guess

To help with carb icing you might need to limit cold air flow.
The major cold air source is thru the rad. Easiest way to limit that is with a winter front. I used the ones with flaps you could open when needed. Like this. https://www.amazon.ca/Fia-Custom-Win.../dp/B00075X8RA |
