67 72 cs144 upgrade
Does the factory ammeter still work properly after cs144 upgrade ?
Getting my donar engine removed for my 68 i realized it has a new cs144 on it Going to use it on my 72 as it will have its winch re installed on it |

Re: 67 72 cs144 upgrade
It should if the wiring hasn't been re routed as it usually is when converting to a internally regulated alternator. Most guys just run the alternator output wire directly to the battery positive post which by passes the wiring for the ammeter.
The alternator output wire should run to a main junction which has a charge wire back to the battery and all the other draws for the circuits should be connected there as well. Here is a diagram

Re: 67 72 cs144 upgrade
I am getting excited at getting closer to finishing my new roller cam 350 heads are at the machine shop
Changing the serpentine belt setup now that i realised the donar engine for my other truck has a new cs144 alternator but the mounts are different then the 92 c1500 setup i cleaned up The 140 amp altenator will be better for the 4x4 with a winch |
