Turned out nice. Lol I wished mine was a 3 1/2 year build. I'm at that not close to being done. This is one of my favorite trucks.

Re: Project "Old Aux"

Del dressed up a @mullinexracingengines LS3 with a cam and some Holley EFI should make about 600hp with a @STFTW tune and shift real good. Its called a DEL S3.

It will have Ac and heater and a brake booster now too.

Other than that trucks been working very well. Drives very smooth and all the Suspension works great.

Looking forward to Phase 2.

Re: Project "Old Aux"

The DELS3 looks outstanding! Is the air cleaner just sitting on the manifold or is the throttle body there?

That's pretty slick! Is the oil pan gonna get paint too?

It sounds like you were running manual brakes. Were you running the small bore Wilwood master cylinder before? What made you decide to make the change?

I definitely have to follow you on Instagram!

Oil pan is not getting painted.

As far as the brakes....they suck.

I wished I woulda save money and went the CPP route like most.

Nobody can seem to figure them out. The master is a manual 7/8's bore. I am hoping with the booster they will stop the truck.

I will let you know in a month or so.

That stinks! Have you talked with Eric (superflysteiny) about this? I've seen him running Wilwood brakes a lot, though I think he usually runs a booster. Probably worth giving Wilwood a call as well, they are just in Camarillo.

I had the same problem. My issue was vacuum so if you want the fire wall to stay clean just bite the bullet and put the hydro boost on it. It will stop for sure. Just my two cents.

Thanks for your input Eric.
Which booster did you go with for the wilwood master. I would like to keep it as clean as possible like you mentioned.

I put the 7 inch booster on it and it would not stop. Let me re-fraise that it would stop but I had to stand on it. Not really a comfortable feeling when you are driving an expensive truck. I called hydro boost and bought there kit for my truck. I know Justin at scotts hot rods has great success with wildwood and he does not run hydro boost. But I just want the truck to stop on a dime and I had the hydro boost set up in my chevelle and it stopped better then a new car.

Re: Project "Old Aux"

I have a hydro boost system on both my 71 and my 65 GTO. I won't go back to vacuum or manual brakes. They both stop like a new car.

If you want to go that route with your booster, I got both of mine from CPP when they carried the Hydratech brand hydro booster. You can still get it direct from Hydratech here: http://www.hydratechbraking.com/

Here's a link to the kit for 67-72 GM_67-72_CK

Or CPP now carries their own in-house brand if you want to go that route.

Re: Project "Old Aux"

Hey! Hopefully you'll see this sometime. Did Oldaux before being sent over to Delmo's for the DELS3 - did the truck have a turbo 350 trans. or 700R4? If so did you like the 700R4 with having the advantage of the overdrive or do you wish you would have went with a turbo 350?

Dels swapping the 700R4 for a 4L70. I went from a turbo 350 to the 700R4 for the overdrive. Where I live most of my driving is freewway so the overdrive works great. Keep in mind if you run big tires 32" OD the 350 might not be that bad for most trucks.
