That's the correct part # for '71-'72 only black auto shift indicator. All others ('67-'70) are different.

good deal, thanks new69! it was removed from a 79 van, so hint to those who are looking for replacements look in the 73-80 vans,
this one is sold but i have another if i can ever locate uncover it, things are hard to find in this building, i have too much sitting piled up and scattered everywhere

Just to note: there is a difference between
tilt and non-tilt pointers...
The p/n for a tilt column, the little white
tooth looking thing..is 3912618 and it too
looks to be NLA (no longer available) from
GM....:-( Dealer stated it was used in
trucks all the way upto 1990 model. so
should be lots of them out there!

what white tooth thing you mean exactly Bubba ? the pointer itself ? thought 73-up are in the instrument cluster ??

Hey Fast...
I was thinking you were asking for the
pointer p/n....before I actually comprehended
what you were asking...I answered.
Yeah, the p/n you have seems correct for
the 'housing'...but there is a difference
between the tilts and the non-tilts.
The p/n I gave is for the little white
pointer for a tilt column. I called GM
looking for it and they (the GM dealer) stated it was used upto '90 in some trucks.
But Yes, I think most newer vehicles have the
indicator in-the-dash now and not on the
column.
But the p/n you have for the housing should
still be available from GM...
