Unhappy 462 BB for sale

i have to sell my 454, it was supposed to go in the truck that i will build one day, but thats a long way off so i need to get rid of it and pay off s10 and college stuff and all. i am about to sell a ton of parts from a 3/4 ton so be on the lookout, i'm just doing it one at a time so i dont get anything mixed up.

oval port open chamber heads (***292) decked, 3 angle valve job

Comp 292 hyd. cam, lifters, springs, retainers.

weiland square port dual plane alum. intake( was going to get right one for it, but i was going to try this one first to see if the rumors are correct)

Block cecked fo cracks, etc, bored .30 over, honed, painted

10 1/4 TRW Forged pistons

Double rollertiming chain, Crank ground and degreed

oil pan, harmonic balancer, new rockers, bearins, chrome valve cover kit, timing chain cover, pointer

New High Perf. pushrods

chrome fuel pump block 0ff plate

All ARB polished stanless bolts, have ll the bolts to finish motor.

some pulleys and brackets from a 402 that i have.

my buddy's dad that built it has built plenty of motors, he built it for a 71 camaro w dana 60, tubbed, slicks, cage, etc, but found a780hp alum headed BB for a deal so i bought this motor. he said it should make 500 hp but that seems a little optimistic.

can get all #'s and pics tomorrow

$3000

Sean,

Just out of curiosity, how were you able to use a square port manifold with oval port heads?

I've heard alot of people say it can be done. I've never seen it myself though. I guess you would trim the gaskets to match up.

You use the square port gaskets. They'll cover the oval port on the head and match the port on the intake. You're going to get some airflow reversion issues, but, depending on who you talk to it's not a big issue - at least so says the engine shop that built my 468 ( which is oval/oval). I'm sure others will disagree.

the guy i bought it from said he was gonna try it to see if it wrked or no, some say it can add h.p., but he had doubts, but ad a square port intake, i was going to order a oval for the motor when i finished it.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
