Re: Tilt column rebuild??

Forum member "randy500" refurbishes and sells columns all the time. Buy one of his, then sell yours.

Re: Tilt column rebuild??

k5blazin
I took mine apart and powder coated it.
I do not recommend it.
It takes a couple special tools to both get it apart and back together.
I think sending this job out is one of the better ideas.

If you don't want to disassemble it I would recommend painting it as an assemble and calling it good. Been there done that and the advice of the other poster (JimIjam00) is right on.

Contact "70shortfleet" (Les). I've read many positive comments about his work. I believe Randy500 is no longer a forum member.

I too would have suggested Randy500, but he was banned from the forum. Many people have raved about KevsClassics for rebuilding tilt columns. He is a member here on the forum.

Re: Tilt column rebuild??

Board member Don D did a great job on my tilt, which started out as a van tilt, and he created a gorgeous floor shift tilt.

Re: Tilt column rebuild??

Short fleet does super work. I have one of his columns and have seen one or two others he did. I told him the column would be the best looking part of my truck!

Re: Tilt column rebuild??

Thanks everyone, short fleet it is . I sent him a pm. On a side note can anyone enlighten me what happened with randy500? About a year ago I sent him what I thought was a floor shift tilt possibly out of a van. He later contacted me saying it was total junk and we would like to keep the parts for all his labor he had tearing it apart. I was told everyone had good experience with him at the time so I gave the benefit of the doubt.
