Replacement air brake knobs?

My brother has a 1985 GMC 6000 with air brakes. The air brake knobs are in poor shape and I was thinking about replacing them for Christmas. Are the replacement knobs universal? I can find lots of replacement knobs but I'm not sure if they will work on his air valves. The air valves and knobs have a logo with a "BW" inside of a diamond. I think that is the Bendix corporation. Will all of the pin style knobs work?

Also, any idea where I could find a replacement knob for the two speed rear end?

Thanks guys!

Re: Replacement air brake knobs?

I've never seen more than one size or type of modern style knobs.

Re: Replacement air brake knobs?

The air brake knobs can come from any big truck parts place or dealer for that matter . The two speed switch will more than likely require the switch swapped out as I have never seen one with a replaceable knob yet .

Re: Replacement air brake knobs?

Those have a roll pin.
Any truck parts supply should have them.

Re: Replacement air brake knobs?

I bought my brother the three replacement knobs for Christmas. Since it was a surprise, I wasn't able to do as much measuring/disassembly as I would have liked before ordering. After I gave them to him we tried to install them but only one fits... Turns out that all three air valve shafts are different sizes.

Red trailer air supply - .308" shaft diameter
Yellow parking brake - .371" shaft diameter
Blue Tractor Parking - .435" shaft diameter

The knobs that I bought all have 3/8" (.375") shaft hole diameter. So the Parking brake knob worked but the other two didn't. I believe that 3/8" is the only size that I saw for replacement knobs. Now I'm even more confused than before. Any ideas?
