76 Stepside Late Build Thread

We started this build almost a year ago and I had an old build thread that was filled with boring pics of rust repair that I havent posted in it for a long time so I thought id start a fresh thread. I'll start from the beginning, my grandpa owned this truck since 85 and after showing interest in it for awhile he eventually gave it to me with the stipulation that I must fix it up and never sell it. Me and my Dad were originally going do to a quick clean up, lower it and drive it and thought it would be great for my first truck, but after tearing it apart we decided to do it right and we eventually got carried away.

The beginning

The truck had some rust issues..

Filled the cab seam

We had to mod the floor for the seats out of a 2008 silverado

And after countless hours sanding and filling it began to look like something

Put in new brake lines and welded in a hitch that will be behind a flip up licence plate

And finally last weekend we got the firewall and jambs painted

Then the engine went in..

More to come...

Looks really clean. Were there any major issues with the new style seats being installed? I was thinking of doing the same thing

Re: 76 Stepside Late Build Thread

Forgot about this thread.. The only major issue other than having to rebuild the whole floor to make the seats work was the seat belts. The original ones didn't work with the seats so we made a custom bracket for the ones out of the same truck we got got the seats out of. heres a pic
