t's a Cheyenne, not a Silverado!! Marketplace doesn't list a Cheyenne, but, requires you to put something in!!

1971 Chevrolet Cheyenne, needing someone to finish it!!

This is a “One-of-a-Kind” 1971. Most Cheyenne’s have the fleet side bed, this was ordered with the sport bed. Below is the list of factory options that was ordered on this Cheyenne!!

Factory options: 402 BB, 400 Turbo, Limited-slip Differential, Bucket Seats, Factory A/C, Power Steering, Full Gauge Dash with Tach, Short Wheel Base, and Step Bed.

Here is a list off the options I have added: Power to the factory seats, Power Windows, Power Door Locks, Dash modified for a 7” touch screen radio, Power Antenna, Factory Tilt Steering, LED “Puddle” Lights under the doors, Digital Guard Dawg Keyless Ignition, Key FOB controlled Gas Door and Power Door Locks, 2” dropped Spindles, Billet Grille, Cowl Hood, Rolled Tail Gate with latch on the inside, Custom Plates for 41 Chevy LED Tail Lights, Custom Stainless Steel Exhaust and Mufflers.

Extras: Many new parts still in boxes, i.e., Tinted door and rear window glass, New Factory GM padded dash pad, carpet, A/C components, and more!!

The 402 BB has been bored to a 410ci and it's been balanced. It has an Edelbrock mid cam and matching intake and carb.

The 400 turbo has been rebuilt and has a B&M shift kit.

Manuals and Guides: I have the GM build manual plus a binder with all of the documentation I put together for everything I added and/or updated.

What’s left to finish the truck: Mainly body work, paint and final assembly.

Price: It wouldn't let me put the correct price in!! The real price is $15k. If interested in finishing a fantastic project, please contact me. I don't need any low-ballers, if this price scares you, please look for something else.

Knoxville, TN
Location is approximate
...That seems like a great price for all that has been done to that truck, ...and a lot of little details.

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds Part 2

There is a reason trucks in boxes don't usually sell for anywhere near what the seller has invested in as if it were an assembled truck - when buying a shell with a great SPID and boxes of parts, there's really no way to know what's missing unless you go in person and inventory the stuff. There may be $15K worth of parts there, but if you only need $5K of them, it's not a sweet deal, and undoing (if so inclined) someone else's idea of what a dash modified for 7" touch screen should look like could get expensive kinda quickly (even if it was done very well - you gotta "want" that mod before you buy - or go into it eyes wide open with what would be needed to undo it). That is why stock trucks, even if the intent is to shorten, slam, and hot rod them after purchase, retain the most value in my opinion - people just tend to like to start with a known quantity I think - or maybe it's just me. Please note, I'm not suggesting a COMPLETE hot-rodded slammed truck doesn't bring the money, it certainly can, but the purchaser knows the full picture of what they are buying. I'm really only talking about unfinished projects that come in boxes - there is risk.

My 2 cents anyway. I'm sure there's $15K in the boxes, but right or wrong, I tend to shy away from projects others have punted on. Yes, I probably miss out on some great deals, or at the very least. some great piles of parts - but you never know until you look closely.

There always seems to be compromises if you never had the chance to order one brand new, but, the 396 4 speed and 3.54 ( assuming the 3.54 and assuming close ratio NP 435) would be a completely different driving experience than a 350 auto and 4.10.

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds Part 2

Things to note on the light blue '69, it does have the original 16.5" wheels, does have original blue bowtie hubcaps, it is a C 20 not a C 30 as listed. I do like the period rear step bumper that sits lower on body, not the late model style that sits up way too high against the body. Hard to say on the mileage, but the original blue steering wheel looks like its in great shape ( very uncommon ).

Brake and clutch pedal wear is minimal also, another mileage indicator. I'm not convinced it's 20k orig, but it's plausible - look at that seat cover! Love that 69 two tone vinyl and dark blue door panels and dash pad. I think it's a good deal at current bid, but who knows where it will end up at (especially with all of us eyeballing it... )

It is on overall nice shape for its age and mileage. It must have been covered or garaged most of its life.

I looked at the pedal covers but I had to replace mine at just over 100K.

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds Part 2

Says it's a professional cut down job and looks decent enough. Not sure on the price before I looked at it in person. Some obvious support rot that was not addressed makes me wonder what else was not done. No SPID photo but looking at the truck it was probably a short list.

Reasonable price for frame off. Nice truck assuming it checks out. Agree though, wheels need to go...

It looks like the air cleaner would be in the way of the compressor. Is it in the correct position or is it the wrong air cleaner? Or has the engine been changed?
