Re: My 65 Pickemup project

No problem Gary, I paid 2 G for it. Found it on Craigslist in Modesto. They are still out there I guess. I was looking for a BBW but couldn't resist this one because it was so clean. I'll get some pics up tonite, I started to reassemble.

Re: My 65 Pickemup project

That is so bad@$$! I planned on putting 22s on my 63 but was still debating 'cause the roads here in Ohio are horrible and the steelies and whitewalls I have on it now look pretty cool. Seeing your truck swallowing up those wheels has me leaning back towards 22s again. Did you get a set of hood hinges from Nate also?

Yeah the hinges are really nice. I have a set waiting to go onto my truck. Are you going to use any kind of inner fender?

Re: My 65 Pickemup project

Hey hey, ya I gotta get my fat ass out to the garage and take some pics. The chassis is back together in powdercoat. Just realized that I have 73-87 spindles, so I have to go get some new ones and get them coated. I'll get some pics up in the mornin.

Why do you not want the '73-'87 spindles?

They don't work with the ball joints Nate sends with the PB arms.

Well that's just too easy. I've always wanted a square body, so now I have a set of spindles for one. LOL

Well I didn't get as much done as I wanted but it's a start. Fresh ring, pinion, bearings and seals. I like having a day off, it's fun.

Re: My 65 Pickemup project

Delmo, is your truck a small hump floor or a high? If its a small what do you plan to do for clearance of the bell-housing. Just asking for idea's, mines a small hump floor.

Thanks

Re: My 65 Pickemup project

Hey bro, mine is a high hump floor. Are you having clearance issues with the small hump? I suppose I would fab up a new tunnel using the original flange if I had. I just assumed I would have tons of room with the high one, hope thats the case. Let me know how you make out.

Re: My 65 Pickemup project

Well i might just look for a high hump section to replace mine to keep it factory looking. If its just a small issue i will cut out and fab a section in. I have'nt got to the drivetrain install yet just trying to prepare.

Thanks man

Re: My 65 Pickemup project

What trans are you planning to run? I have a TH400 in my Suburban with a small hump. Even though my engine is a little forward of stock, I believe it would fit in the stock location.
