Hardtop Blazer?

Sorry if this has been posted before, I don't get over to the 67-72 side very often.
I was on Google images trying to find a picture of a 1965 Suburban. Found this while looking at a site that had one and this too.
I have seen a picture another Blazer/Suburban like this before but it was red and I think it was a tailgate.
I like it! Wish I could figure out a way to put barn doors on one of me Blazers...

Re: Hardtop Blazer?

I figured as much. I posted it here as it looks closer to a Blazer than a Suburban.
I like what Hill's did with this Blazer but personally would have went for the barn doors. Just me maybe?

Re: Hardtop Blazer?

The orange rig has been posted several times in the past. It is a cut down burb, but very cool. It's the only one I've seen like that other than photoshop jobs. I think there are a couple guys on the board wanting/planning on building something similar.

Someplace, there is a photo of an in-progress blazer with a fixed roof. They shaped the B Pillar to flow more like later model Blazers. I might have a photo on one of my other computers or you might find it in a search.

The last time I spoke with him it was not much farther along and he was talking about getting out from under it I hope he re thought that and is sticking with it.

It use to belong to member Brad2. It's still way COOL! Some purist might not like it,... but it show what $$ and a little imagination can do. The craftsmanship is awesome.

Re: Hardtop Blazer?

I still have the money pit.. This is how it looked about two weeks ago. I know really doesn't look much different other than different primer but the body has received lots of TLC. I need a motor for it now. Still no idea on a completion date.

Re: Hardtop Blazer?

I'm not a huge proponent of making blazers into fixed roof rigs, but what you have done is so different than any others, it is cool. The craftsmanship is awesome. I wish I half that skill.

Whats the plans for the rear gate? It looks like you have holes drilled for side moldings. What are the plans there?

Re: Hardtop Blazer?

Glad to see you still have it! I think this is one of teh most amazing 67-72's I have seen. The work is top notch from the pic's you have sent me and what I can see. I am still up in the air about what I want to do to my 70 2wd but I think it will stay a vert but not by much

Also what is the rear bumper made from? Ends off a front and the center from a rear?

Sorta reminds me of the 55-57 nomad lines! Unbelievable talent you have in metal forming, hope your son is paying attention. My boys were 6 when they were hanging out in the workshop. Good looking son, BTW J.
