Hello, I'm looking for a 69-72 Blazer 4X4. I've wanted one for 15+ years, and am finnaly shopping!
I would like to start with a pretty clean body, I learned my lesson on my last project (69 RS Camaro) that a rusted out body, can double the price, and frustration, of a build up. I am not too worried about surface rust, or paint, just dont want rotted holes. Also, I need to start with a reliable drivetrain, as it will be my daily driver.
I looked through the last 2 months of posts, and saw a few, but nothing near Cali. I like the look of 35's with a 4"-6" lift.
I was thinking of around a $5,000 cap, but it looks like you can get a whole lot more truck, for a little more cash, above the 5G area. so theres some room there.
I'm in the Pasadena area of So.Cal. but am willing to travel a days drive for a nice ride/deal.
I look on ebay, and the trader sites, and theres tons out right now, but I just wanted to say hello, and see if there were any "word of mouth" deals floating around. Thanks if you stuck around for all of this, Steve N

Welcome to the board from Wisconsin. I can't help you on the Blazer need (wrong part of the country for that), but I wanted to say nice RS!

I've got a '69 I'm planning to sell this spring. I has a 6" lift, 35" tires, 350/TH350, hard top, soft top & disk brakes up front. I'm planning on asking $6200, but I'm flexable. Right now, it isn't running due to the plug into the back of the ignition switch being pulled for my other truck. I've got a lot of extra parts for it too. It has some rust in the driver's floor board, but that is all.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. Bouncy, you have a PM. the Camaro is pretty close to drivable, just needs final assembly, brake lines bent up, wiring for the LT1 figured out. I'd love to get a 69 Blazer and paint it Hugger Orange to match. That would make a nice pair.

go to the following thread and check out this blazer in Long Beach. It is hugger orange and is in pretty good shape. I looked at this last weekend when I was in L.A. the only rust I could find was in the front of the rocker boxes. there may be more hidden but I don't think so. The truck is set up for fairly hard core 4wheelin, but minor change and it would make a nice driver. He was willing to go down to $9,000.00 last weekend.

That looks like a nice rig. 4.56's and 35's might be a little overkill, but if you want to go bigger, it's setup.

Thanks Slamd, yeah that is a good looking Blazer, I cant call from here ( In China),and there's no email, did you get any other stats on it, or pics. It does sound pretty hard core for trail rolling, and taking tools to work (carpenter) yes/no? I think bouncys truck is sounding pretty good.
Just wanted to say what a great board this is. I'm very greatful for all the help, and I'm sure you guys will be invaluable in the future, after I actually HAVE a ride to work on.

Steve, what part of China are you in? I spent 32 days touring the country from Shanghi to Chong Ching, then to Xi'An, then to Peking in May 2002. I was able to find some internet cafe's, but a government minder would stand over you watching every site you went to.

Thanks sdsu, I have seen that shop, its right next to the 5 Fwy. I even walked past once to have a look, there were some first class blazers out front. I'll have to go back and have a talk with them.
dtlilly, I'm in Dongguan China, just north of Hong Kong. I've been here for 10 weeks, working for Disney. I'm doing quality controll for some fiberglass factories, for the new park in Hong Kong. I've seen a lot of the Guandong provence, but don't have much free time to explore. I will be home on the 19th (Budda willing), and looking to spend some of Disneys money on a Blazer.

Hey Steve, Disney eh? What do you know about the abandoned Disney theme park just N. of Peking (bejing). On my way to the Badaling section of the Great Wall, we passed an almost complete, yet abandoned theme park, that the tour guide said Disney walked away from.

I'd like to see the south part of China. The women were better looking around the Yangzee river, but as you went further north, they started to have the typical flat face of the Mongolian minority.
