Re: Favorite tool you own?

This is the best tool I own, of course couldn't do without all my tools. I made this from a Hoyer lift/patient lift. I made the boom on it to extend. Like to get this seat out of my truck~ I couldn't have done it by myself and just loads of other things it can do! I finally made something that works! ; )

I like it. I am always working by myself and something like this has been on my to do list for a long time.

Re: Favorite tool you own?

Hey gearheads, this is how it started out. I made the boom to where it's extendable/retractable. Just look on CL for a used Hoyer lift, or patient lift. They come in manual like mine rated at 600lbs or battery, but only 300lbs or so. I love mine!

Forgot to say, the end where the screw mechanism is weighs a fair amount, guessing 60lbs or more, acts as a counterweight. I forgot there are otherones that are hydraulic, like an engine crane, but I don't know their counterweight. Have to take that in consideration if having a boom like mine. ; )

We have both the band saw and sander at work, yeah, they aren't the most impressive.

Re: Favorite tool you own?

This is one of my favorites. It allows you to pull several studs at once. Great for creases and large dents. Saves me a ton of time and makes for a cleaner pull since it pulls a large portion at once rather than one stud at a time. And the safety clamp keeps it from slipping.

Re: Favorite tool you own?

I have a new favorite tool. I found a barley used MAC mini 3/8 drive butterfly impact at a pawn shop. With a swivel air connector I can put it in some really tight places and its got a ton of torque. I unbolted a whole long bed side last night in about 10 minutes.

Re: Favorite tool you own?

Here is mine a Manitex 1768 boom truck. That stands for 34,000 pounds of lifting power and 68 feet of reach. 113 feet of reach if I put the jib on... And I have put numerous engines in with it. Beats the hell out of an engine hoist.

Re: Favorite tool you own?

That 250 bucks definitely made a good deal, freight and cargo costs a lot. Mine are the 400$ jacks that uses air pressure instead.
