I Snagged This Last Month

It's a 71 C/30 with a 350/NP435 4-speed. It has an Eaton HO72 rear axle, Power brakes with front disc's and power steering, all six tires match and have plenty of tread. All the lights work including the factory cab lights! This thing drives like a dream straight down the road with no drift! Has a Micro-Lock front e-brake and an electrical brake controller, it even has the original AM radio. The bed has a flip up goose neck trailer hitch. The old farmer I bought it from replaced the rockers a few years ago and patched the rusted holes in the floors. When he found out it was me (the guy with the two 72's) he dropped the price to $1900! So now I have a third Chevy to play with and use to tow "Nasty Sally" to the shows and drag strips...

Re: I Snagged This Last Month

You done good, Jethro. It's pretty cool it had the below Eyeline mirrors. Most cab & chassis trucks came through with west coast seniors. Those will get the job done just fine while being a more trimmed down look. How long does the bed measure? Looks like about 11'. Sharp looking truck! Congratulations!

I do, my daily driver "Belle" also served as the tow truck for "Nasty Sally"...Belle has a factory oak wood bed (gets the motor oil treatment annually) she had factory overloads (coil rear) and I installed a series 4 Posi carrier w/373 gears. She running a crate 4-bolt 350 w/performer intake, and my home built 350 Turbo Mr Clinebarger walked me through rebuilding. Sally was the my first 72, I replaced the usual rockers and cab corners, installed a set of 72 C/10 buckets I recovered myself. I installed carpet, reworked all the gauges and repainted the interior, all black. I was determined to build the 72 SS-396 C/10 that the General never did. She had a 350 with a 350TH when I bought her 15 years ago, she has a pumped up 427 in her now. I gave $500 for Sally, and $2500 for Belle, named em after old girl friends I had when them trucks were new! "They take all my money and command all my attentions"

Thank you Tim, those mirrors are getting swapped out for the west coast style because I cant see around the bed!

Thank you Leon, that axle I bought from you awhile back is exactly what is under that 1 ton! It was destiny! Both HO72's

I'm afraid I may have already sold it to a collector/restorer in Texas...I was joking around and told him I'd let her go for $5K and a side of Texas beef and he immediately agreed! So she's going to a good home in Texas, same home I sold my 1980 KZ-1000 MK-II to a few years ago. Old Sally six years ago takin that first place burnout trophy home... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_jXx...FwXZgV5iVEXyeB First motor pic is the 396, the second pic is the 427

I remember that burnout well...I was standing about the same spot where it was recorded. That truck was a beast!! Love the new C30...I even recognize the stone house in the background of the one picture!

Great price, I got mine for over twice that and it was not running. No big for me since I am Fram off LS swapping it anyway. Yours looks clean and a great driver. What are the plans for it?
