Shifter ideas

Hey guys lemme give you the lowdown. I have a 67 c10 that I just put a new tko-600 in and need some advice, input, or whatever you want to call it. I now find myself in need of a shifter. I would like it to be about the same place as the original one. Any input or advice would be greatly appreciated. Maybe drop a picture of the final resting place of your shifter so I can get a better idea of what's going on. Thanks a lot.

Re: Shifter ideas

I haven't crossed this path, but I know others have. Aren't there shifter kits for swaps? Hopefully someone will step in with some info. TTT

Six speed tremec in my '70. Installed the mid-shifter conversion kit to get it off the tailsection and up ahead of the bench seat. I bought a short throw f-body shifter off of ebay and welded on a vintage 4 spd farm truck shifter. I think it looks cool as heck but honestly its a pain in the butt and I need to go shorter. I'll probably order a 12-14" shifter to shorten the throw.

What brand of shifter were you thinking about?

probably just a basic lokar. I actually bought one from Summit last month but the one they sent me looked nothing like the one they had illustrated so I sent it back. I could cut this one down but I want to keep it (like I said- I love the way it looks).
