OK. My '68 Stepside was 516 Orange outside and inside, but with a silver Fawn trim -- door panels, visors, seat vinyl, belts, dash pad, column and wheel.

Well, me neither. I was stating how it was when I bought it. In fact a half-century of dailiy driver use has seen a lot of changes. Currently it has blue visors -- custom plywood door panels, walnut-stained -- a '69 T-Bird electric bench bottom/bucket back seat upholstered in saddle. Dash pad recovered in the same saddle vinyl. Belts are original, but should be replaced for safety.
So if the wheel isn't Factory Fawn, it will bother nobody but myself.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

Yes, really nice work on that steering wheel. I never thought about epoxy to fill the cracks. What paint is used? I would think things like finger rings would mark up a painted wheel pretty easy.

I'm old and fat, so swapping everything out on the front is killing my back. Fronts dropped 4 1/2" and the back is on a 5" springs, I have a 1" rear drop block to install still so it will be a 4.5/6 drop when I'm done.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

Hey I'm old and fat too, which is why my truck is up in the garage remaining at stock ride height while I'm down here laying in bed watching HDTV and playing with my smartphone.

What did you do today not on your truck...

...oh not much, just laying here in bed on my fat butt watching some guy on HDTV modify his C/10 heater box and teasing hdrolling for actually accomplishing something.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

Yes that wheel turned out real good.

My truck came with the original steering wheel and it was in good shape but I replaced it with a Grant because that's what everybody else was doing.

Then I threw it in the trash because it never occurred to me to keep it.

Oops.
