Re: Vin Info

1962 would not have that still VIN tag. It would be small and up on the upper door post opening. I think 65 is the year they changed to the lower door opening, but not positive on that. Definitely a squarebody era VIN. Those kind of things make me run away fast , no matter what the deal.

Re: Vin Info

That there is a job for State Troopers to straighten out. I'd edge away from it, too. If it's in California, it's going to require an emissions inspection, with a '77 title. That's going to open a giant can of worms.

Thank you, was hoping it would tell what the original engine was, but I guess it will stay a mystery…..

Kind of a hijacked thread but you still probably want some answers! Check out the GM Heritage web site for your ‘65 truck https://www.gmheritagecenter.com/doc...olet-Truck.pdf

It looks like the original stock motor was the 230 Inline 6.
There’s always a “but”…But there was option for 292 I6 or 283 V8 so what’s in it now? Or no motor? Good luck that ‘65 3/4 ton is a great 4wd truck
