Re: Tattoos

I remember years ago on this site we had a thread for members to show their Chevy truck tattoos, and there were plenty. This thread shows how things have changed. I have always felt my "ink" looks unfinished, a bit out of balance, and still would like to do something about that. But I hardly ever think about it or have the spare money. Good tattoos ain't cheap. I'd hate to be buried all out of balance like that

That would look like $10 cents on me

That is one of the reasons for myself getting the old ones covered , before they close the doors on me .
A good artist here is $150-$200 an hour

Re: Tattoos

The only tattoos that I dislike are really bad cheap ones. We've all seen them and thought WTF is that? Seriously... You cheaped out on a tattoo? Spend a couple bucks and get a good one.

The only worse one is getting your girlfriends name tattooed. DO NOT DO THIS!! 100% guarantee your next girl aint gonna like it one bit. It's bad idea.

Re: Tattoos

The other bad idea, don't get a spider web tattoo on your elbow. It has a different meaning to another segment of the population and might get you into some hot water with those that you might not want to tangle with.

Hmmm. I never knew that. My old roommate had them and he was just a guitar player that was always late on the rent. He probably just thought they looked cool. He wasn't the brightest bulb.

Re: Tattoos

I always heard the spider web on the elbow meant the person murdered someone or had been in prison? Or was the murdered someone the tear tattoo? Mine are art, not evil-based. They combine my love of American motorcycles, Harley on one side and Indian on the other combined with Native American & Western styling as well as a bird theme. Feathered wings and the Peyote Bird. Nothing sketchy or scary. They are of my own design. Oh yeah, a war shield with a Buffalo and a cattle skull. All these things represent America to me.

Re: Tattoos

Well...Here's mine. I was 50 years old when I got my 1st one. The Panther is in memory of my Dad, as he had one. Two of my younger brothers have done the same. I added the blood drops coming from the claws.

The second one came about from my 51st birthday. There might(?) have been some influence from magical elixirs. (12) of us headed to the inksters. The only one that didn't get ink that night was the one that suggested it. My oldest daughter.

Any way...Myowndamnself, and the artist, customized that one as a merge of the Texas Flag and the Flag of The United States Of America.

For your viewing pleasure...

Re: Tattoos

this is my right arm. I still have 1 more session to finish it. It's been an ongoing process for a bunch of years. I also have one for my dad on my left arm and for my kids going across the front of my shoulders/chest. One for my mom on my left pec and a small one for my kids on the back of my left shoulder.

I didn't get my first tattoo until I was 40.

The spider represents how much time you were in prison, aka "The Big House," not jail. The larger the web, the more time you spent in the "joint."

I was talking to a somewhat friendly parolee one time (as a side note, I enjoyed talking to those guys. I always learned something from them). As we were chatting, I asked him about his tattoos. We always documented them, he knew the routine . Anyway, I asked him what he thought about the people who had the web tattoos. He minced no words, and I will not repeat them here. Just suffice to say he "earned" his and it made him mad when he saw Joe Schmuckatelly wearing them on his elbow.

The tear drop next to the eye generally means you murdered someone. There are a couple of other meanings for it, but generally that's what that one stands for.
