Re: What do you think this ran

I think the rear gear is key to guessing how this stock set-up would perform, but I'll guess 15, based on a highway gear.

Re: What do you think this ran

pretty tough with the limited info there Kevin,, but I'll bite

14.2's at around 85-90ish mph,,, guessing it had 3.73 gears from the era which seems was common with manuals and straight 6's,, but if it was one of the hwy gear trucks (3.0x gears,,, closer to 14.9's or more would be my guess.

Re: What do you think this ran

Well I'm guessing it must have run pretty good if you are posting. My truck had a similar setup but with 3.42 instead of the original 2.73 and it ran mid-14s. So I would guess 13.9 @ 98.
My truck was an oringinal 6 cyl, 4 speed and it had the 2.73 rear gears.

Re: What do you think this ran

I'll say around 9.00-9.10 @ 80 and 14.00 @ around 92 or so.
As far as the gear is concerned, I was under the assumption that most of the 6-cyl/ 3spd manual trucks came with 3.73s.

Re: What do you think this ran

We think the truck has a 3.42 gear but not sure. It turns about 2700 at 70 mph with the 28 inch tire.

Best 1/4 ET @ mph: 14.74@91.55
Best 1/8 ET @ mph: 9.46@75.02
Best 60 ft: 2.202 on Radials
Engine: 350
Transmission: TH-350

we are planning on doing a 383 with fast burn heads and a posi of course.

Sounds more like the famous 3.08. That's about what my truck does with the same gears and tires.

I am the owner of said truck. When I got home this afternoon, I checked
the ratio 43 tooth ring gear and 14 tooth pinion gear so it is a 3.08. What do you guys think it will do with a posi and 3.73 rear gear?
