72 k5
72 K5 with 68' front end. 5.7 Vortec, 4L6OE trans. Paint is going to be the old light metallic green. Wheels satin black powdercoat with chrome lugs, no centers or rings. Hopefully done and on the road by summer. Not a show or trail rig, just something to have fun with and cruise to the beach in.

A few more. Interior is almost done. Need to work on the stereo. The last pic is the awesome custom fab job the done by the guy I bought it from to get the new fuel pump in it.

This is what it looked like when I got it. Roll pans front and rear, they were the first things to go. The suspension was all stock so all of that is being replaced. The drivetrain is out of a 99' Suburban and I sold the wheels that were on it. The guy I bought it from had started on the interior and had replaced the entire body with new metal. He still had the factory gauges, a steering wheel out of a newer Chevy and a B&M shifter. I redid the dash, Lokar shifter and made a shifter for the t-case. Put in tilt steering, glovebox, and fixed alot of the wiring, replaced alot of masking tape with heat shrink connectors. Old owner needed cash bad so I got a pretty good deal. It also came with a softtop and hardtop. It was a good base to start with but he was going in a different direction with it than I am. Front and rear rollpans and big old KMC rims are not what I think of when I am thinking of a classic Chevy 4X4. I was looking for something with a solid body, drivetrain, engine and frame. That is what I got. With a 3-1/2 year old and a 9 month old, a full body off resto would have probobally taken 10 years.
