Truck parts vendors from the late 80s/early 90s?

A bit of nostalgia here.

I bought my 69 C10 in 1989. Back then, there were small ads for truck parts vendors in the back pages of magazines like Truckin'. And then you called them or sent them a letter requesting a catalog.

I remember reading through catalogs from Golden State Parts, but names of the others escape me. Maybe The Truck Stop in California? Also there was one in the southeast, possibly Georgia.

Which vendors did you guys deal with back then?

Obsolete Chevrolet parts in Nashville Georgia use to have a ton of NOS truck parts, Also, I did a lot of business with a old friend in Bradenton, Florida. Ed at Mothertruckers. He passed away years ago. To many companies out there now sell AM 67-72 parts. I stay with Wes at Classic Heartbeat or GMC Paul. They value check there parts before its put on there websites.

For me it was (and is) Dan's Classic Chevrolet here in Portland. Back in the day George worked behind the counter. His knowledge of parts and their applications was encyclopedic. Unfortunately he left us way to early in life.
Several years ago Dan himself retired and he sold the business to a gentleman named Lou who runs it in conjunction with his auto body shop today.

I bought my first 67-72 truck in '92. I ordered a carpet kit, seat cover and shoulder belts from JC Whitney back then. I also remember buying engine-related stuff from PAW (Performance Auto Warehouse).

Those are oldies but goodies! I bought things from JC Whitney back in the 60s. Port-a-walls, glass packs, and rocker panel covers. But no ahooga horns!

My buddy and I were into these trucks in the 80's. We were were buying nos parts out of Hemmings Motor News and a few companies in the US and Canada.
The best back then was The Truck Shop out of Crossville Tn. (owned by Jerry Brown). Also Cheyenne Pick-up Parts out of Washington,Oklahoma. In Canada it was (and still is) Scotts Super Trucks out of Penhold Alberta Canada.
I have some old catalogs from these companys. Leafing through The Truck Stop catalog....how about these nos parts. doors $375 ea, bed sides left $320, right $650. nos side marker lights $5, nos outer grills $115, nos cargo light $45, ach tray assembly $10. nos rocker panels $75.

Somewhere I still have a receipt from a Chevy dealer that shows I paid around $130 for an outer grille for 69 pickup. That was "jobber" price, but list price would have been only 20%-25% more. Today they cost around $500, and they are reproductions.

I remember getting the PAW catalogs and circling all the stuff I wanted. And JC Whitney used to have an electric choke conversion for Qjets that worked great. I believe the first one I bought was like $15.

I did the exact same thing with the PAW catalog. I wanted to build a 383, so I spent hours selecting the parts I'd need. I never ended up doing it though.

I used to buy stuff out here from Pick Ups Northwest. Used to be RB's Obsolete, but the two owners had a falling out (I believe), one took RB's (mostly street rod stuff) and the other opened PU Northwest.

Now Im not 100 percent sure when they started, my guess is 90's. I do have a box dated from 04 that I purchased from them, never opened. 67-72 Pickup Superkit Div Bar Upper Channels Felt kit w/chrome bead. Made in the USA Top Choice Re-pops Americas Most Excellent Reproductions. I should open it some day, hard to beat Most Excellent =)
