Custom truck shows (TX region?)

MODS feel free to move if necessary, just thought it would get more exposure to the lowered truck crowd if posted here.

So as the the title states ,is there many shows within driving range (10 hrs.) of TX coming up? Hot rod, custom truck, whatever? Since my truck is good enough to call finished I'm planning on hitting some shows up this year and I'm just curious what shows are good and worth going to. The only shows I'm for sure going to are "TEX MEX" in March (Never been) ,and Good guys in October (been before), and maybe a few other shows here and there.

Anybody else going to any "QUALITY" shows? Where?

Re: Custom truck shows (TX region?)

http://www.houstonraceway.com/index.php?id=541

They kept Dallas on the list back when they removed the Houston Area back in 2005 but that cut people from LA. FL. MS. and AL. from makin a show of it.

And if they go back to their old standard ... it will be a "Show and Go" weekend ... allowing cars and trucks to run the 1/4 mile.

Re: Custom truck shows (TX region?)

and of course the show's site www.SuperChevyShow.com

It is Chevy Heaven ... the parking lot even becomes a Show Pit just from what everone drives to the show.

Beats the hell out of Autorama ... and great product and vendor support.

Last time I went to one, here in Missouri,... it was $27 per person (to walk in,... no vehicle) for a 1 day pass.
Not many vendors either.
I won't be back.

They wanted to charge us $1200 to set up in Baytown. Too rich for our company

The only way to avoid that is avoid the shows that attracts that type of truck owner.

Goodguys is an awesome show, but the 72 cut off date kills it for some of us. The good news is NSRA has adopted a rolling 25 cut off date. That means we can get in to the NSRA events this year. NSRA events calender- LINK

I plan to support the progressive mentality by attending the Southwest Street Rod Nationals in Oklahoma City.

Anyone want to join me?

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Re: Custom truck shows (TX region?)

I Will be there but not in my truck hopefully next year with both of my mistresses. I went to NSRA nationals in Kentucky for the last 4 years, It is a great show. Lots of the NSRA veterans are not happy about the new rule but if it got past then there must be more for than against it.

Oh, I wanted to do this show last year. Might have to for-go the OK event for this instead.
