Pump to Carburetor Fuel Lines, what are you all using?

I'm going to be installing a crate motor in my 69 C1500 in the near future, replacing the original 307. I will also be installing an Edelbrock performer manifold and carb that I've laying around for years. I plan on using an original style fuel pump, which I believe has a 5/16" inlet/outlet. I have seen a few different braided hose kits that seem to use a larger 3/8" hose. Ideally, I'd like to use all steel lines with an inline fuel filter. But who sells all the fitting I'd need? What are you guys using?

-6 braided hose. Much easier to work with I think. Summit fittings are just like Russels and easier to use than Earls. Just make sure to use nitrile lined hose(not natural rubber)to stand up to "Obama gas".

Home bent tubing with a rubber jumper gas line by the pump.

Those A/N fittings and braided hose look great!

I have this job coming up and I am going to use 5/16" Poly Armor tubing from NAPA, putting in an inline filter (NAPA) with bubble flares and short bit of hose. I'll make my own double flares for the pump and carb fittings with a Craftsman Double Flare Kit.

One nice thing about runnin a Q-jet is that you can use OEM replacement lines. Cheaper way is to bend your own steel lines but takes some skill or at minimum a lot of trial and error! The braided is the easier DIY and has the racer look to it but comes at a $$.

Factory steel to QJet. Get a good bender it's not hard to make your own.

Hamjet - you mentioned you used brake lines. What size? Normal larger size brake line is 1/4" and I've always thought the smallest acceptable fuel line was 5/16" (with the larger cfm setups getting 3/8" lines). Love the W motor btw, looks great!

My local Advance Auto Parts had 5/16" lengths of brake line in stock. The 72" long one was perfect for my tank to fuel pump run.

Yup... bent my own with 3/8" hard line from my Carter pump to my Holley carb.

Here is the line on the bench.

I'm using 3/8" 250 psi rubber hose, which should outlast me! It's secured with clamps above the fuel pump and on the intake manifold, so it won't flop around.

I may eventually bend a hard line, but it's a PITA when using a Holley with the fuel inlet on the driver's side. (What was I thinking when I bought that carb?) I also have a fuel filter between carb and pump which makes using hard line even more difficult.

From the pump to muti-line fitting is 3/8". to each carb is 5/16". auto parts stores have all different lengths and diameters. Some I had to shorten and double flare. Thanks..

So, you don't have a rubber fuel line at pump inlet? And looking at my setup, what would cause "massive fire"?

I experienced frustration too with holly carbs. but remember holleys were used on both ford and chevy cars and those steel fuel lines are reproduced. so alot of the frustrating work is done for you. I used corvette lines because corvette owners are very demanding NCRS and all. so corvette vendors have some good quality lines.
