Help!

hi, first time poster. i'm having trouble figuring out how to remove the wiper arms on my 87 R10 pick-up. searched all over the web, my haynes manual shows different kind of arms. i don't see any kind of lever or release on the arms. hope the pics are clear enough. any assistance would be greatly appreciated...

Re: Help!

There should be a little spring type clip that pulls out so you can release the wiper arm. It's very thin steel and it slides parallel to the wiper arm, and it's underneath between the arm and the windshield.

Re: Help!

They make a tool that helps but you can do it with a screwdriver. Lift up on the arm and gently pry the base up off the post. Showing you a picture of the tool (there are a few different flavors) as well as a thread that might help you from the older generation body style, same concept though.

Re: Help!

Thanks for the help. i just got them off, there is a little tab that locks the arm on so it won't com loose, i just pried that back and they came off fairly easily.

Re: Help!

That's what the tool reaches in and grabs as you lift up, glad you got them off.
