Additive / Treatment
What products do you use in your gas or engine? Especially for the older SBC that depended on older fuels and oils that now don't have those necessary additives in them anymore?

Lostmy65:
There are a lot of oils that are designed for older flat tappet engines. One of the most popular series is the Brad Penn (PennGrade) high performance oils. They have the right additive package and are used widely in racing and vintage motor applications. https://penngrade1.com/products/high-performance-oils/ Another brand are the Joe Gibbs (Driven) hot rod oils. |

Re: Additive / Treatment
Many miles attributed to Valvoline VR1.
Many more now for the fuel Chevron Techron Marine Clean! The most effective and cost productive. |

The only fuel additive I use is Sta.Bil but that's because I buy gas in bulk at the end of the month with supermarket points and store it in jerry cans. Keeps pump gas fresh for 48 months. But it's not a performance additive.

Re: Additive / Treatment
I'm also wondering of what to use to help with keeping the fuel system and carburetor clean and free from moisture damage from ethanol fuel.

Re: Additive / Treatment
For ''drying out'' your fuel system I use Heet. It's more alcohol. but it will absorb the water so you can burn it off. Also a shadetree cheat for getting your old engine to pass state emissions tests. Red or Yellow bottle, either works.
