Looking for a fold down tie down insert for bed side or D ring type that would use one of the truck bed bolts to anchor.

ideas appreciated

Re: Truck Bed Tie Down Options?

I drilled about 1/2" hole into the side of the rear stake pocket, enough to slip in a tie down hook.
there is already a large hole in the bottom of the front stake hole, good to attach tiedown hooks.

Bull Ring 4098 fits the rear two stake pocket locations in '67-'72.

I'm happy with mine. Only minor complaint is I can hear them rattle slightly when retracted when I have the sliding rear window open.

^^, those are what I have as a placeholder...did see a C10 with D hooks on a 2 bolt strap mounted on inside of bed, top, where rail slots are that also looked discrete but require drilling holes. Have not found Stainless ones, just zinc coated

Did you try them in the centre and front holes as well. Listing on go to 88 model year on their website.

Re: Truck Bed Tie Down Options?

Maybe not what you need but I replaced four bed bolts with "I" bolts to serve as tie down points. Just in the front of the wheel wells. Then I had a cargo net that held down the cooler and lawn chairs.
See pic.

Re: Truck Bed Tie Down Options?

^^^, considered that also but using single bolt D rings so they would lay flat

Like your bed, mine is "done" so I am not hauling anything other than coolers, boxed merchandise so a single bolt held something would work

just need to find stainless vs "metal" (zinc) type

They don't fit these locations on '67-'72 (opening is the same, but there isn't enough room below the opening to install).

Re: Truck Bed Tie Down Options?

I posted the ones I used last year. Pictures are sideways but they work really well, I have had some serious load on them with no bed or anchor distortion. Not exactly a direct fit but not difficult to make work either.
