I was hoping that you would start posting some heavies, lol.

The red truck is actually a Chevy 90. Owner is stating "3-Speed Rear", but it's actually a 13-Speed Road Ranger. Nice sheet metal to boot. Wish it was closer.

Black truck looks like a 7500 and has a 6V-71.

It is possible that C90 does have Eaton three speed rear axles. Not the best set up, you start out with both axles in low, then second speed one was in low and one shifted to high, and third speed both were in high. I always though that set up would be hard on the power divider. Can't tell for sure as the shift knob was similar to the 13 speed.

I could be wrong as it is possible. I've never actually seen a 3-Speed Rear Axle Knob. I just took it as advertiser error. He didn't even get the truck series correct.

I can't say for sure either without seeing the top of the knob or the axles but it's a neat truck especially with a 13 speed. 13 speeds and Detroits really worked well together so likely it is a 13 speed. I only remember seeing two trucks with the three speed set up, both were Internationals with 549 gas engines.

Yes indeed, they did exist! What it was was an Eaton tandem set with 2, 2 speed axles and an inter-axle differential power divider. 'Low' was both axles in low range, 'High' was both axles in high range. In the intermediate range one axle was in 'low', the other 'high', and the difference in ratios was split by the differential. 67km1590 was right, it supposedly didn't like running in the intermediate range. Don't think you could lock out the power divider for obvious reasons! Whole point of the idea was to allow a use of a simple 5 speed transmission instead of a Road Ranger, ect., which this truck apparently has.
