The two holes on the back side hold the casing to the pump and if the plastic plugs are left in will leak. looks like a later unit, so they should be 10 mm studs and will attach to a rear plate connected to the motor mount.

Wow, Ubtripn - I pray my install is not as problematic as yours. Any insight before I fire off on mine? I think I will try next weekend for the install. There is a guy in ID I got my brackets from he still has the gear box and pump from his parts truck. His email is: lightnin@cableone.net

Yours will certainly go better than mine, thanks for the info on the guy in Idaho, I got my pump and brackets all wrking, I just had bad luck with the actual stearing geras so I ordered a remanufacured one. Good luck, I think you will only need to dent your frame with heat and a hammer if you have a 67, you may need to notch the bumper bracket, other than that, when you get the right stuff it bolts right up. There are just so many combinations of wways of doing pulleys and belts on 350's. I had to take into account future ac. Anyway, I have got it down now so hit me up if you have any questions and go with a 76 -80 steering gear because of the variable ratio (2.5 lock to lock) and remember, after 76 the pressure hose and pump went metric.
