Automatic tilt steering column

GM Automatic tilt steering column originally from a motor home converted to a truck column. Time was taken to do this so it is a direct bolt in. The column was cleaned, then checked for worn parts & replaced if necessary. The neutral safety switch was moved to the correct location on the column & the old hole filled back in where the switch was. It was painted with semi-gloss black paint. All the bearings were checked & greased. Turn signal switch & wiring was in good shape. The upper & lower rubber seals are new with the correct bottom seal retainer. New turn signal & tilt levers. Shift lever is used but in good condition, your choice of long truck style shift lever or shorter van shift lever if you are using a smaller steering wheel.

I'll take one. Do you have pictures from the long one if the short one is sold? Thanks.

Sorry if I confused you. I was referring to the shift lever length not the column. The column itself is the standard original truck column. I will have more of these to sell. Sorry about the mix up, I should have worded that a little better.

Re: Automatic tilt steering column

Don,

I have an auto GM van tilt in good used condition. I will need a floor shift tilt for my Blazer. Do you build these, or need a good core?

Hello, I can build a floor shift tilt column out of a automatic column. I do not have any factory floor shift columns right now. I can do one in about 2 weeks from now & send you some pictures. Right now I have several cores, I am sure you will have no problems selling it. Thanks, Don

Don,

Please send me info. I will be at Carlisle in a week, and if I do not find an acceptable column there, I will definitely keep you in mind.

Thumbs up Re: Automatic tilt steering column

I just received one of Don's manual tilts. First off, the packing job was the absolute best I've ever encountered in 30 years of being active in this hobby. The column would probably survive an explosion.

Secondly, the price is very reasonable and commensurate for the quality of the finished product. He's obviously done several of them and it shows.

My Blazer will be that much better when it is completed due to being equipped with this column.

Thanks, Don!

Even though I have talked to Don and he know's I have received the new column, I also wanted to let everyone know what a great job he does of packaging these columns up to and including instructions as how to remove it from the box he makes. The column arrived in great shape and looks fantastic. This is definitely not his first time doing this. Thanks, Don

Thanks guy’s, nothing is worse than getting something you been waiting for, then it shows up damaged, especially when the packages are treated like footballs. Don
