What the heck is going on with your garage? Nothing in there!?! That's sick.
Thanks Steve..

I spent all day Friday cleaning the garage out to make room for the truck.. Just so happens when I was taking the pictures the wife and the daughters were all gone.

Thanks Kyle..

My thoughts exactly.. that is why I moved it to the other side of the garage....

I want to get it all finished before I damage it too much…

It now sets in the stall I have it parked in front of in this picture..

Did you happen to check your fuel mileage on the trip? Just curious as to how the 5.3 did pushing that truck down the interstate.

No.. I didn't really check it.. I did not fill the tank all the way full because I have not installed the vent line yet and did not want any gas to slosh out. I had a 1/4 of a tank before I left and put 8 gallons in tank on top of the ¼ tank. I had a little less than a 1/4 when I get to my house. 150 miles.. I would guess I used ~ 9 gallons.. so 17mpg ?? This is just a guess really.. As far as pushing the truck it did a great job.. I used the cruise control for most of the trip set on 75mph, and it may have kicked down to 3rd once or twice on some of the steeper hills.. I am very, very pleased with how it moves the truck.. I think the stock 350 may have had 200hp, the 315 the 5.3 has makes a difference.

Man I just read your whole build, somehow I managed to miss it.

I will admit when you first started, I never though that truck would wind up looking this nice again. You did one hell of a job getting it brought back around and making it right. She looks damn good.

I am really looking forward to seeing it finished.

First, your truck looks awesome. Glad to hear it's running pretty awesome too!

Cruise Control? I did not think these trucks came with cruise control, so I assume you added the feature? If so, how did you go about it? I would love to have cruise control in mine when I get to that point. I am going to re-read your thread and see if I missed something.

I have a 5.3 installed and used the cruise control functions built into the PCM to implement it. I used a Dakota Digital HND-3 control and a custom circuit to adapt it to the PCM functions.

Re: Crash's 69 K10

I just read through your entire thread today!! Pheww its a long one but gave me a lot of good ideas cause im am doing the exact same thing on mine. Well minus the digital gauges prolly. I have to say your truck is absolutely amazing. I like wiring but im wondering if I should attempt rewiring my harness or just pay someone else to do it to save me the time, And I don't really have enough room to spread out and do it. Anyway Ill be watching this one and hope you don't mind me picking your brain a lot!! LOL

Thanks .. the wiring is not bad. I did mine on my pool table; it could be done on a kitchen table. I saw how your LS is installed, I assume by the PO. If I was you I would put some type of cross member under the motor. I think they are a integral part of the frame on the older 4x4. Good luck with the build.

I plan on it. Im gonna get some DOM tubing and bend it kinda like the Pacific Fab setup. Weld a plate on either end and bolt it through the plate that was welded to the frame.

I do have a question thought. My 5.3 is a 2006 supposedly and I need to know if I can eliminate what I assume is the EGR from the exhaust manifold in favor of the manifolds like yours? I could be wrong as to what it is.

Yes, you should be able to elimate it.. You can have the person that does your PCM remove the emission stuff.

I'm trying to figure out how you get so much done on that truck with it being in Eufala and you having a job too.

Kyle will have that knocked out in short order.
