3/4 ton steering components

Hi:

I need a completer redo of my 53 GMS 3/4 ton steering and I am having a hard time finding parts on line. What I see is labeled as 1/2 ton. I was told that the steering box are the same for 1/2 and 3/4 ton but the pitman arm is different, how about other steering parts and spindles?
Now that we are speaking of steering, is there an upgrade (modernization) of 3/4 ton steering? I want to keep it as 3/4 ton. Can the rack and pinion kit for 1/2 ton work for 3/4 ton?!
Thanks

Re: 3/4 ton steering components

Well, it seems 3/4 tons don't have as much demand or maybe my typos on the first post were deterring factor.
Anyway, does anybody at least knows what the part in the circle is? Based on the location I am assuming it is an outer tie rod but I am wondering if it has a different name and also if it can be rebuilt or replaced with the modern one which we know how they look. I see the 1/2 ton trucks have a drag link which has ends look like this outer tie rod which connects to 1/2 outer tie rods.
Thanks,

Re: 3/4 ton steering components

I'm going through something similar with my '57. The parts in the circle are tie rod ends. I'm not sure about the AD trucks, but in the TF series the 1/2 ton trucks use that style tie rods while 3/4 ton trucks use a tie rod end with the ball and stud in the TRE, not the steering arm. You may be able to buy the "guts" and rebuild them. Some parts are still available at Jim Carter's, maybe other places as well. Many folks will knock the ball studs out of the 1/2 ton steering arms and use a modern design tie rod end. The steering arms are definitely different between 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton. Other than that I'd need to use the gm parts wiki to look up and compare part numbers.
