Question 700r4 inspection cover

Now that I got the 700r4 in and setup , I'm in need of a new cover as the one that was on my old th350 was there one day and gone the next . It was a turd held on with Ty wraps and 1 1/2" fender washers so no great loss .
I need to put something on it , are they pretty much universal for all autos ,and if not what will fit ?
I'm headed out to Carlisle this week so I'm sure I'll find something just need to know to look/ ask for .
Thanks

Re: 700r4 inspection cover

'82-'96 2wd Chevy Trucks (Trucks have a 168 tooth Flexplate) The Starter is mounted outboard compared to a Passenger car with a 153 tooth Flexplate.

They are 700R4/4L60E specific, The bad thing is most sellers have no idea what they came off of at Swap Meets.

I find it best to hit wreaking yards so you know what your getting.

There are Universal ones that you have to cut the starter hole out yourself, Google "700R4 Dust Cover"

Re: 700r4 inspection cover

Thanks Chris ,
Looks like I'll be doing a junkyard creep after Carlisle if I don't find one with a known origins there

Wink Re: 700r4 inspection cover

Well Carlisle was a bust on finding one this trip . Found about 5000 of the plastic universal type which looked like crap .
If all else fails I break down and get one of the 700r4 chrome ones that are sold by the vendors and blast and paint it if need be .
I did find a bunch of other stuff I really didn't need but had to have though
