Aftermarket steering column

I have a cheap aftermarket chrome column I am installing. I have all the factory hardware from the old column, but I don't see how this will work. The column is not secure and spins while turning the steering wheel and shifting in and out of gears. Can someone who has installed one possibly shed some light on this please. Maybe there is a specific mount I need?

Re: Aftermarket steering column

I have an aftermarket tilt column in my truck, brand unknown.. The bolts and saddle clamp under dash should hold the column in place. Make sure these bolts are tight. The bracket at the firewall is formed into a clamp. This clamp also holds the column.

Re: Aftermarket steering column

As I recall on my stock 68 column there was a small hole in the column that engaged a small "nub" on the column mount bracket. I used a Ididit column and had to drill a small hole in the column to engage the the nub on the column mount bracket.
