Model T haven liquidation Iola Ks (AD and TF stuff)

This was posted on the Hamb and while the business name is Model T Haven it looks like there is quite a bit of AD truck and maybe some TF truck stuff in the yard. Worth a look for someone in the region.

77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.

sundgren is the literal worst auction company for selling auto parts, I went to three sungren auctions this year. they have no idea what they are doing.

Re: Model T haven liquidation Iola Ks (AD and TF stuff)

I rather figured that they weren't much into the car stuff and all about the furniture.

I figure that they plan to sell a lot of the car stuff off in lots. Mark off an area and you bid on everything in that area in one bid. I went to a local auction that they did that on the car parts and had batches of stuff on pallets or in apple bins. I think I bought three pallets of stuff and one bin with a bunch of stuff. As soon as I had finished paying for my stuff and went and got my truck there were a few guys who wanted one item out of one of the piles and I ended up getting most of my money back on the whole load before I ever loaded it up. One guy gave me what I had paid for the pallet of stuff for a couple of specific items and he had been standing beside me when I bid on it. He said he only wanted those those particular items and didn't want to deal with the whole thing.

i'd like to wander around that one, but someone spent a lot of time disassembling vehicles and throwing the parts on the ground, making a whole lot of scrap/junk

Re: Model T haven liquidation Iola Ks (AD and TF stuff)

Their business was selling used model T parts. A lot of that probably is pieces that were damaged beyond repair that most likely should have been hauled for scrap years ago. Probably saved because they might get a buck or two out of a piece as a patch panel donor when it should have been loaded up and hauled when scrap prices were high.

Most of that stuff will probably be sold as "your pick" or by the whole lot. Bid what you will pay for your pick of say the wood spoke wheels, pull out the number you want and put them in your pile and it gets marked down and either other guys can get what they want for what you bid or bidding starts over until they sell what's left as a lot.

A lot of that I figure they have sections marked off and you bid the section.
What people don't buy at the auction or take from the pile they bid on the scrapper gets.

nope.

its sundgren, so what will happen is they will spend 6 hours selling stuff no one came there for, pots and pans, broken chairs. hawking it for 10 minutes trying to get the bid over a couple cents. then, after everyone has lost their patience and most real bidders have left, they will walk up to a pile and sell "choice", meaning you bid until you win then pick off the pile. if its a pair you pay twice.

it will take all of both days till the sun is down to sell all that stuff that way. Been there 3 times this year, now i just avoid the sundgren auctions.

They must be tied into one outfit out here that does pretty much the same way. We were standing out in the dark passing my flashlight back and forth to figure out what we were bidding on before it was done.
