Lightbulb WTB/WTT: SWB stepside steps (have perfect LWB steps to trade)

Looking for a pair of straight, rust-free steps and brackets for my '72 SWB stepside. I have a pair of brand-new (taken off new in '71 by the dealer) LWB steps and brackets that I would trade straight up, each of us paying our own shipping. Otherwise, shoot me a price to buy yours outright.

I'd sell the LWB steps outright for $100 + S&H if anyone's interested. Can post pics on request — too lazy and tired tonight to go out to the garage to take pics.

Thanks,
Brent

I think it will be tough to find a trade for the long steps.I just sold ones like you have, new take offs for $100.Your price is right,I just think the title is messing you up.Try buying outright and selling outright,is what I`d suggest. There may be plenty of short steps out there (more where made than longbed),but finding someone with them that needs your`s is narrowing it down.

Thanks for the input! I had hoped that the subject would make it clear that I was willing to either buy or trade, but maybe not. Oh, well -- no hurry as you can tell from my build thread.

Believe it or not, four years later I still do have them. They've been stored indoors, still in mint condition. Had forgotten about them amongst all my other parts. Interested?

Heh heh. Sometimes it pays to dig a little deeper,eh?
I enjoy seeing these old threads brought back to see members who have been long gone. There's so many people here now I tend to lose track of some of the good old names and wonder what they're up to now.

Yes sir, I am. Happen to have a pic as mentioned? I've got a set that I took off my truck that will require quite a bit of work to re-use them. If I can get some in mint condition at a decent price...well, I can't pass that up.

Just took a bunch for you. Lighting wasn't great in the garage and they've picked up a bit of surface rust since the last time I looked at them (doesn't everything?) but they're extremely straight with nothing close to pitting as far as I can tell, and you can see from the pics of the bolts that hold the brackets on that (for the most part) those bolts look like new with no evidence of ever seeing a mile on the street. Anything that looks like damage is bad lighting, a reflection, or factory seam sealer or whatever it is they used on these during assembly. In the last pic you can see where whoever removed the steps got a bit overzealous with a grinder, but it's not deep at all and would never show. "Mint" may be an overstatement four years later, but I doubt there are too many dealer take-off steps like these around in better condition -- or any condition, for that matter.

Sure, why not? PM me your shipping info and I'll see what I can do about getting them boxed up and getting a shipping cost.
